Peloton Rowing Machine UI Design

At Peloton, we were privileged to contribute significantly to the user interface design of the Peloton Rowing Machine, a project that challenged us to innovate while maintaining consistency with existing products like the bike and tread. This endeavor not only required leveraging our established design language but also presented new challenges, particularly in integrating sensor data and optimizing usability during rowing sessions.

Building the UI from the Ground Up:
From the outset, our team focused on creating a seamless and intuitive user experience for the Peloton Rowing Machine. We drew upon design principles established with the Peloton Bike and Tread, ensuring visual continuity and familiarity across the product ecosystem. This included refining UI elements such as workout metrics display, navigation menus, and interactive controls to accommodate the unique demands of rowing workouts.

Challenges and Innovations:
One of the primary challenges we addressed was optimizing the touchscreen interface for use during rowing. Leveraging sensor data and extensive user testing, we implemented ergonomic considerations that allowed users to interact with the UI effortlessly while maintaining proper form. Motion and Feedback Integration:
